Steps to quicken Bing account activation using RetailTower

If you signed up for Bing Shopping and do not yet have your account status activated, it's probably due to the following reasons.
  • Your store settings information is not completed or do not meet bing policies see ( Bing Store Settings )
  • You have not provided a feed url if you are submitting feeds via  HTTP (Microsoft Download).
  • You selected to submit feeds via FTP (Merchant Upload) and do not have FTP settings configured.
  • The merchant has not uploaded a test feed to Bing.
The following step by step guide using RetailTower will quicken your account review process if your account status is incactive.
  • Login to your RetailTower account , Create a data feed on the FEEDMANAGER  for Bing. Please put your products in the right Bing category using our 'Categorize my products'  tab. Make sure you save the datafeed.
  • Proceed to the RetailTower Dashboard, and copy the feed url that is created for Bing.
  • Login to your Bing account and go to Tools->Catalog Management, select Microsoft Download under How to Provide Feed Files.
  •  Paste the feed url that you copied from the RetailTower Dashboard in the Source File text field. Leave the username and password fields empty.
  • Save the settings.
  •  Go back to the RetailTower Dashboard and click on the Download button for the Bing feeds.
  • Download the file and save it on your computer. Then click on Choose File under Test data feed upload the feed file that you downloaded from RetailTower.
  •  Now click on the Upload Test Feed button and wait for Bing to analyze your feeds and give reports.
  • Some of the errors are minor or you can ask RetailTower support for clarification. But this will get Bing to review your and possibly review it quicker.
